What did Jesus mean by “born again?”

Many people today, spend lots of money on things like cosmetics, make up or anything that is available out there that’s can help them look more preety and handsome. Through these attempts of trying to remake the external appearance, some are trying to look totally different then they looked like. Some of them are not happy with hoe they look. Some wish they could just start they whole life again. I would be interested to see what life would like if there was a preference buttons in life (maybe attached to our bodies) where one could just click on it and modify this and that about themselves. With all these attempts, at the core of it, there is a deep hunger for total renewal, regeneration, and feeling complete. Jesus brought that.

When a religious man of His time noticed that sometime being a church member does not excuse you from going through the life struggles which many people go through, Nicodimus saw in Jesus something different. He’s been listening to Jesus preach about the Kingdom of God. A place where the saved ones will be part of. Where their will be no pain, sorry, suffering, or feeling incomplete. He decided he would come to Him and enquirer about the Kingdom of God. Jesus answered him saying, “…Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.” John 3:3 KJV.

How can a grown man be born again? Nicodemus couldn’t understand this. Jesus was trying to show Nicodemus something big here. He said, “…Except a man be born of water and os the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. ” John 3:5 KJV. Jesus was showing him the importance of being newborn spiritually (for being baptised was mearily a public declaration. It was a symbol of something greater). Therefore Jesus made this important point which we all need to learn. Worldly things will perish and won’t satisfy the urge. Theological debates won’t help much. Only spiritual regeneration. Allowing God to do in you that which you can’t do for your self and giving you a new life.

Jesus is knocking at the doorpost of your heart, He’s been patient with you. Don’t let Him go, accept Him and receive eternal life today.
